Microsoft Products / Lab Computers Policy

This section describes  how to obtain and use Microsoft products on computers owned by ERL. This includes systems purchased with departmental funds, grants or contracts. It does not include desktop systems that are managed by the MIR Computer Section.

Microsoft Windows

Versions of Microsoft WIndows OS products can be installed on computers owned by ERL (and thus MIR) under the Microsoft Campus Agreement (https://mscampus.wustl.edu/). The page that defines the policies is defined here: http://sl.wustl.edu/catalog/index.php?area=4&id=3&cat=2&subcat=

In general:

  • You are welcome to install the software on ERL owned computers.
  • You should not install the software on your own, personal computers.

Microsoft Office

Same policy as for Microsoft WIndows above.

Development Tools

Same policy as for Microsoft Windows above.

Microsoft Products / Procedure

  • Use a web browser to bring up: https://mscampus.wustl.edu/
  • Select the Microsoft link on the left flap
  • Select one of:
    • Workstation Operating Systems
    • Workstation Applications
    • Development Tools
  • When you select one of the software products, it will ask you for your WUSTL key and password. You will need those to complete the download.
  • You will likely download an ISO. 
  • No labels
